I specialise in commercial dispute resolution; working on a range of complex cross-border cases for international clients, both companies and high net worth individuals. I navigate my clients' commercial and personal disputes to effective resolution. Prior to setting up ROOTS LAW, I was a litigator at some of the largest international law firms in the world: CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP, Withersworldwide and Richard Slade and Company.

As part of my practice, I maintain strong connections with litigation professionals in London and globally. Given the nature of our clients and cases, I work with leading experts who are carefully selected to create a specialist team for every new matter. Our approach and teams vary depending on the assignment. ROOTS LAW maintains the highest level of integrity and ensures that our clients receive the required attention from beginning to end of every case.

While we focus on civil litigation, our work inevitably also includes matters of crime, tax, offshore structuring and private client work as well as application of advanced IT technology. There is also often a matrimonial and property element.

Dealing with high value cases involves acting for and against extraordinary individuals, companies and sometimes governments as well. We fight very hard for our clients and victory is very important.

YULIA CHALYKH
Solicitor-Advocate and Founder of ROOTS LAW in London
Yulia is a solicitor-advocate of senior civil courts of England and Wales, including the High Court, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.

She is a forceful litigator with an international reach. She has an excellent understanding of international commercial litigation and aspects of regional business in various
jurisdictions, including in Russia where she was a transactional lawyer in a multinational
investment banking and asset management firm and often appeared as an advocate in the Moscow Arbitration Court.

Being a naturally strong strategist and negotiator, Yulia utilises these skills as well as her corporate background to support clients. She advises on both contentious and non-contentious matters of English law (family law, corporate transactions, real estate and intellectual property) and often works on cases with an international dimension with conflicts of law and jurisdiction at the heart of the dispute. This experience compliments Yulia's work in enforcement and international asset tracing.
